Classroom activities
Things a class does rather than writes on. Each one is a finished PDF: print it, cut it up if it says so, and hand it round.
-
Segment Bisectors — Cut & Glue Sort 25 minutes, including the cutting · 5 sheets
12 pieces, each a segment AB with a line, a ray or another segment through it, sorted into bisects at a marked right angle, bisects with no right angle marked, or no way to tell — where only ticks, numbers and a square count, never how central or how square it looks.
-
Congruent Segments & Midpoints — Answer Maze 10–15 minutes · 4 sheets
One page and nothing to prepare: 8 boxes, each asking for one number off a midpoint — a half, a whole, x on the way to a length, ticks to be read — where the wrong number is the mistake the lesson exists to stop and leads to a box that sends you back.
-
Congruent Segments & Midpoints — Mystery Picture 25–35 minutes · 4 sheets
25 figures, each a segment AB and a point M, many of them dead in the middle: fill the square only where the ticks or numbers make M the midpoint — never because it looks halfway — and a picture appears.
-
Congruent Segments & Midpoints — Scavenger Hunt a full class period · 13 sheets
16 cards round the room: ticked midpoints, an expression on each half, ticks that pair across two segments, and two segments that bisect each other — each asks for one number, a wrong answer lands on a card that sends the group back, and a clean run is 8 lines on the record sheet.
